Microsoft explains that Copilot Chat for business processes prompts and their context within the Microsoft 365 service boundary. This data is not used for model training, but it does enter the Microsoft environment and may be stored there. NilPII replaces detected sensitive information locally before the text is sent to an external AI environment.

What can I try for free?

What data does the AI model receive?
The model receives your modified request with placeholders. The original values and their mappings stay on your device. Automatic detection can miss details. Check the remaining context too: a combination of details can still be identifying.
Does protection also work with files?
Yes. For supported documents, emails, images and screenshots, processable sensitive content is protected before external processing. If content cannot be processed safely, the request stops. Uploads are available with a subscription.
Do I need to configure anything myself?
There is no privacy software to install, no integrations to build and no API keys to arrange. Protection is built into NilPII and active by default. Review Mode lets you check what is sent to AI.
Do I have to put names back myself?
